Blame it on the Rain

I LOVE rain, but not when I need to get shit done! I need to wash some linens, maybe I should just lay them outside? ARGH!

Weekend Wrap-up

Nothing too exciting this weekend. It's weird when we don't have a show, but very chill and relaxing. I caught a cold from Thanksgiving. I think it may have had to do with waking up and being outside so early, then after dinner doing the campfire thing, both in cold weather. I should have been better dressed for the campfire. Oh well, Tylenol Cold, Advil, and Claritin (because at work my eyes were a little itchy and the weather wasn't too bad Friday) have been in my system the past couple of days.

I had dinner with the DuPre' family. They are an awesome family and GREAT cooks! They are so much fun to be around. I'm so glad that I was able to be a part of their family. I'd have to thank Troy again for asking me to be a part of the band staff. I've made wonderful friends through it.

Friday night I got to hang with three of my favorite people...John, Wes and NaMicha. It was a very chill night. Headed out to their neck of the woods and we went out to Greenville Ave. Went to the Pony Keg, dead, but I like chill bars. Would have gone to lower Greenville, but we couldn't find parking. After we went to an Asian food place that is open til 3am! I think the name is Nanding/Nandina, something like that. It's afilliated with River Spice...yum....Shrimp Tempura Rolls at 1:30am! All in all, we just hung out and it was fun.

Also, my friend Glenda is back from England. She made Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night so I went by there after work. I'm all about still eating Thanksgiving food after Thursday since I don't have "leftovers". Give me stuffing and baked Mac and Cheese anyday!

Booty calls...don't get them often, but you gotta love 'em!

Mom comes in three days so I need to get cleaning. Then I can put up my Christmas three. Can you feel the holiday season?

Cleaning out my Closet

Cleaning out my closet is a chore. I have soooooo much clothes I don't know what to do with. I made three piles, one for goodwill, one for the Philippines and one for a local women's shelter. The one for the women's shelter has been put on hold so my mom can go through and pick out stuff for her, my aunt, and the Philippines. I just want to get everything out of here! Now, time to clean the bathroom and kitchen...wish me luck!

Did you know?

I got this forward from my cousin and thought it was pretty cool. Of course, it's one of those chain letter things, but the meaning is what's important. To all my friends:

Did you know ???

Did you know that when you envy someone, it's because you really like that person?

Did you know that those who appear to be very strong in heart, are real weak and most succeptible?

Did you know that those who spend their time protecting others are the ones that really need some one to protect them?

Did you know that the three most difficult things to say are :
"I Love You" "Sorry" and "Help Me"
The people who say these are actually in need of them or really feel them, and are the ones you really need to treasure, because they have said them.

Did you know that people who occupy themselves by keeping others company or helping others are the ones that actually need your company and help?

Did you know that those who dress in red are more confident in themselves?

Did you know that those who dress in yellow are those that enjoy their beauty?

Did you know that those who dress in black, are those who want to be unnoticed and need your help and understanding?

Did you know that when you help someone, the help is returned in two folds?

Did you know that those who need more of you are those that don't mention it to you?

Did you know that it's easier to say what you feel in writing than saying it to someone in the face? But did you know that it has more value when you say it to their face?

Did you know that what is most difficult for you to say or do is much more valuable than anything that is valuable that you can buy with money?

Did you know that if you ask for something in faith, your wishes are granted?

Did you know that you can make your dreams come true, like falling in love, becoming rich, staying healthy, if you ask for it by faith, and if you really knew, you'd be surprised by what you could do.

But don't believe everything I tell you, until you try it for yourself , if you know someone that is in need of something that I mentioned, and you know that you can help, you'll see that it will be returned in two-fold.

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU COULD ALWAYS COUNT ON ME???... AT THE MOMENT, TIME AND PLACE THAT YOU NEED ME, CALL ME, I WILL BE THERE WITH YOU!!!!!

"One day, we will change the world...or we are already changing it " THE BALL IS NOW IN YOUR COURT... If the world were to end in 24 hours, all the phone lines, chat rooms and e-mails will be saturated from people sending messages to others, saying: "I regret having made you feel bad", "Pardon me", "I love you", "I hold you in high esteem", take good care of yourself" and sometimes "I have always loved you, only I never told you".

Today, the ball of FRIENDSHIP is in your court, send this to those who truly are your friends (including me if I am one). Also, do not feel bad if no one sends this back to you in the end, you'll find out that you'll get to keep the ball for other people want more...

He Will be Loved

When I first heard this song I wasn't into it, but the more and more I hear it, the more and more I love it. I need to get Songs About Jane, I'm so behind on Maroon 5. I saw them open for John Mayer and they were okay, but maybe I just needed to pay better attention to them. Anyway, here are the lyrics to She Will Be Loved. For me I would change some of the pronouns, but I can totally relate.

She (He) Will Be Loved

Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her
She always belonged to someone else

I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I've had you so many times but somehow
I want more

I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved

Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get so insecure
It doesn't matter anymore

It's not always rainbows and butterflies
It's compromise that moves us along
My heart is full and my door's always open
You can come anytime you want

I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved

I know where you hide
Alone in your car
Know all of the things that make you who you are
I know that goodbye means nothing at all
Comes back and begs me to catch her every time she falls

Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful

I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved

[in the background]
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye

Yeah
[softly]
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain

Try so hard to say goodbye

PMSing All Week Sucks

Okay, so it hasn't been a good week emotionally. I've had major PMS. I've been pretty sensitive to things. It all started with not knowing if my friend in Chicago was pissed at me and my friends for our drunk night last Friday. Then making stupid drunk phone calls. Then Kerry doesn't win the presidency. Then I find out that family members aren't coming to my graduation now since my mom is coming...please don't need your pity. I have friends who WANT to come and support me. Then the guys get back from Alaska and as everyone asks me how things went and I snap. Then...and the list goes on and on. I hate this time of the month. But not to worry, things are better today.

Saw the boys play last night. Show went well, but I guess it was a disappointment for management. Apparently the guys didn't have the energy that they had in Alaska. Welcome home I suppose. They played two new songs. Little Girl I liked and One Heart I guess I just need to listen to and get used to. It kinda sounds like they are still working on that one. Then again, I didn't like Bittersweet Backseat when I first heard it, but I love it now.

Anyway, so that's how my week has been. Hope everyone else has had a better one.

What is your Political Persuasion?

You Are a New School Democrat

You like partying and politics - and are likely to be young and affluent.

You're less religious, traditional, and uptight than most Democrats.

Smoking pot, homosexuality, and gambling are all okay in your book.

You prefer that the government help people take care of themselves.

Four more years of.....

Senator John Kerry is giving his concession speech. It's official, four more years of uncertainty, war, economic troubles, rich people getting richer, poor people getting poorer, basic rights being taken away because the religious right doesn't believe in it, people continuing to suffer because stem cell research cannot be done, a country divided, young people dying in a war that doesn't pertain to us, on and on and on.

I am proud the amount of young people that came out to vote, but I wish many of them made the decision because they wanted their candidate and not their parents.

With the percentage of popular votes and the electoral college, it is proof of how divided our country is.

Doesn't it scare you when people outside of our country are scared for us? I met a man from England yesterday and he said people across the seas think Americans are idiots for supporting George Bush. They are watching the elections just as closely as we are and they are genuinely afraid.

Does it bother anyone that we are led in this war by only one person that has actually served in the Military? I was listening to NPR and they talked about the military records of key Democrats and key Republicans and the D's outweigh the R's. The R's only have Colin Powell, everyone else was able to avoid military service...must be nice to have money.

Okay, so I guess we have to come together as a country and fight for what we believe in. We have a leader that half the country doesn't want, but we have to live with it.

Back from Chicago

Well, I took my girls up to Chicago. Here's a little summary of what we did.

Wednesday - Arrived and ate dinner at Armando's...YUM!!! Then we went to see The Grudge. I thought it was good. It wasn't scary gross, but scary spooky. The little Japanese boy was probably the scariest part of the movie.

Thursday - Art Institute, Millenium Park, Bakers on State Street (where Jackie and NaMicha got some good deals), H&M, dinner at Eli's...YUM!!!, Blue Chicago for some Live Blues.

Friday - Lunch at Benihana, Tour of Chicago, Top of the Sears Tower, Rode the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier, dinner at Gino's, out to FUNK and Bootleggers on Division and Rush...OUCH!

Saturday - Paid for Friday night. Ate at Jimmy John's. Walked around the city more. Went to see Ray. Ray is a must see. It was interesting to see the life of Ray Charles. That man has been through alot of shit and persevered.

Sunday - Ate lunch at Foodlife, did last minute shopping and came home to Dallas. Worked on marketing plan on the plane. Went over to Pete's and chilled with Beth and MA and gave out candy to Trick-or-Treaters.

Whew, busy past five days. Will try to post some pics soon.
