Merry Christmas

This post is a day late, but Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope everyone had a good holiday. For me it was a little different. I had to work on Christmas Eve then went home and watched the mass from the Vatican. I was pretty emotional since this is the first Christmas not with my mom. But thanks to my surrogate families in Texas it was all good.

Today, I am going to be running around, getting last minute stuff done for Greenland. Two more days and I'm outta here! Keep checking back for more exciting stuff.

This weekend...

So my mom's visit wasn't too bad. She's my mom and I love her, but she's still a mom. I am so glad she got to come down for my graduation (yes, I graduated Friday!). She also got to meet my friends down here and I couldn't have asked for anything more. She loves everyone and everyone loves her. We had dinner with some of the band people and she had a good time. I love my friends and my mom of course!

Here's an update on the past couple of days...

Wednesday - Mom arrives. Had a couple of drinks before picking her up. Went out with a friend later that night and didn't get home til 3:30. Let's just say it was an interesting night. I get home and my mom starts getting mad at me. Oh well, I was able to get up the next morning, no problem.

Thursday - Intern in the morning and dinner with band people. Mmmmm...Covino's. Wish other people could have come, oh well.

Friday - GRADUATION DAY! Went car shopping early in the day then graduated at night. Got my MBA from the University of Dallas. It was an awesome feeling walking into the gym with all those people cheering. Didn't really feel finished with school until I walked across that stage and was handed my diploma, yes my actual diploma not an empty one with "degree to be delivered" in it. It was a pretty quick ceremony. There were 126 graduates that walked. The keynote speaker was a little boring, but we got through it. Dr.Clark ran through the names. It only took 1 1/2 hours. The guys played at dJango's and I took my mom to see them. When I got there people congratulated me on my graduation and some were actually upset because I didn't tell them about the ceremony. Didn't realize how many people actually wanted to go to my ceremony to cheer me on. I would have invited everyone, mostly the band guys, but they had to be at their gig and I wasn't sure how long the ceremony would have lasted. But I truly appreciate the love my friends give me. I think my mom enjoyed herself except for the smoke. The guys put on a hell of a performance. She got to meet the rest of the band guys she didn't get to meet Thursday night. That was FUN!

Saturday - Got my 04 Xterra! Then went to dinner at Kirby's. Thanks Mel for the hook-up! Here's a pic of the new car. I'll get a pic of my actual car soon and post it on here.

Sunday - Mom left early. I love that woman and admire her for the love that she continuously gives me despite my irresponsibility with money. She has so much strength that is undescribable. She took an early flight because my aunt kept calling about Uncle Art. I hope everything is okay.

That has been my weekend so far. Every day/night we've gone out to eat. Tonight...Maggiano's. Then, no more eating out!

T minus 5 hours

My mom will be here in 5 hours. My apartment smells like Pine Sol and I'm doing final laundry stuff. Spent all day Monday cleaning the apartment and I put up my little Christmas tree. Yesterday, not having to do with cleaning, but just a busy day...I drove from pretty much the farthest point North to the farthest point South as I had to take Troy and John around. We did passport stuff then went over to record some music. It's cool hanging with my boys. Watched Gangs of New York, sorry but I didn't enjoy it too much. It was just toooooo long. At one point I thought it was over and it just kept going. Had I been prepared, I would have probably enjoyed it more. Anyway, I need to put the clothes in the dryer. More later.
