Classes are O-V-E-R!!!

Whew...didn't think this day would come. My classes are over with. I have one more major class and I will graduate in December. Today we had our final S&E Sponsorships presentation. Although I think ours was probably the best, thanks to Sudd, Sherry's Sundance Square presentation may just win. Who knows.

Anyway, need to figure out what "lay the bead" means. Dammit, I lost "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to a redneck and I owe him a bunch of dances...ARGH! The original bet was a dance in Tulsa, but he missed that and claimed that I owed him dances. I tried to explain that he said in OK, but he wasn't budging. So in my drunkerd state he took advantage of me. We were going to flip a coin, but upon my suggestion ended up doing Rock, Paper, Scissors. Needless to say, I now owe him dances in the State of Texas...ARGH!!

Well, it's time for me to go to bed. Right on, starting the week off right by being a little buzzed...ugh! I was good yesterday and stayed home, but it looks like another week of fun (can you sense the sarcasm???). Good night.

John Mayer = HOT!

John Mayer ROCKED!!!!! I love the acoustic guitar! The show was awesome. Good music, HOT singer, beautiful weather on a Friday evening, awesome friends, 24oz beers, what more can one ask for?

John Mayer's guitar skills were undefinable. I think the best song of the night was probably "Come Back to Bed" and/or "Your Body is a Wonderland". Obviously the fan base was't full of Eric Clapton fans because as I went to the restroom during the song, so did everyone else in the venue. I wanted him to play "Love Song for No One" but he didn't...ARGH. But overall his show kicked @$$!!!

Set list courtesy of www.johnmayer.com
Bigger Than My Body
Why Georgia
New Deep
3x5
Blues in C
Come Back To Bed
My Stupid Mouth
Something's Missing
Old Love
Your Body is a Wonderland
No Such Thing
Clarity
encore
Home Life (solo)
Comfortable (solo)
83 (full on)

As for Maroon 5, they were good, but I wasn't too impressed. My friend Sherry said that they remind her of Jamiroqui (I hope I spelled it correctly) and I can see that. He hit some notes and some were just off.

If the tour comes to your town, you MUST go. It's a show that you won't want to miss!

Bush Bashing or just telling the TRUTH?

I think that everyone should go see "Farenheit 9/11".  Political or not, this is an eye-opening movie.  Many believe it is Bush bashing but I see it as telling the truth on what has happened these past four years in our country.  Yes, the movie is a bit biased against Bush, but the footage presented backs up the reason for the hating.  I don't want to spoil the documentary, but it gives you an honest look at the Bush administration and the shadiness behind many of his dealings.  It gives you insight on the war from the family's perspective and soldier's perspective.  It shows how the military twistedly focuses its recruiting on the young men and women of our inner cities who fight wars everyday.  It reminds us that the young men and women in Iraq fighting are there for the wrong reasons.  It proves that money can buy alot of things, even the richest country, USA.

If this movie doesn't make you get out and vote, then I really don't know what will.  Please see the movie and make the intelligent choice.  Do we go through another four years of deceit or do we take back control of our government?  Politicians will be politicians but we can't go another four years with republicans and Bush in control.

Should be an interesting evening....

I am up early, supposed to pull back some trash cans for a friend out in Fairview, but waiting to hear from a band boy. Anyway, later tonight I am meeting up with some friends and we are heading out to Sherlock's Pub. It should be interesting. We are taking a friend out there to forget his hoochie ex that he's been stalking and looking like a fool in front of. We are also visiting our friend who is a new manager up there, as well as playing Trivia. Everyone talked about how they planned on getting Shitty tonight. Maybe I should drive myself??? I have so much shit to do and I am blogging right now. Priorities! =) Anyway, have a good day and wish me luck tonight!

Happy 4th of July!

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July weekend.

*****

God Bless The USA
by Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life,
And I had to start again
with just my children and my wife,
I'd thank my lucky stars
to be living here today,
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

From the lakes of Minnesota
to the hills of Tennessee,
Across the plains of Texas
from sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston
and New York to L.A.,
There's pride in every American heart
and it's time we stand and say:

I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
