So Much for my Happy Ending

Okay, so I was supposed to see Avril Lavigne tonight at the AAC. Julie's roommate's daughter won tickets from KISS but she couldn't go because she had a volleyball game, so being the good friend she is, Julie invited me to go see Avril. I said sure, hey it's FREE tickets to a concert, right? Anyway, needless to say I met Julie at our regular hang out and by the time we left, it was just too late and we made every excuse in the book not to have to travel all the way down to the AAC. That and we had a few drinks. We got a few feet down Preston and made a long U-turn through the State Farm parking lot. I'm sure the show rocked, but sorry, no review here. Beasties still kicked ass thought! So much for my happy ending...I still can't think of Avril's first song (I can remember sk8ter Boi though). ARGH!

You Can't, You Won't And You Don't Stop

Went to see the Beastie Boys last night at the AAC. For a bunch of old guys they still put on a Kick Ass show. From the old skool to the new skool AWESOME! Of course when they took the stage, people lit up. Ahhhh, second hand smoke. The floor was general admission and people were moshing. Could never do GA. There was a guy in a Sasquatch outfit. People were just interesting in general. The Beasties did their encore from a section over.

One thing that I was confused about is that Ad Rock made his political statement for the evening "We need to get George Bush out of office" while throughout the whole show MCA had a "W" sticker on him. Is there political conflict in the band?

Overall...it was a great, energetic, entertaining show! Monday night...Avril Lavigne. Hey FREE tickets baby!

Talking Matchbooks

So my boys played at 8.0's in Fort Worth this weekend. I have a thing for matches (yes I am a pyro). While waiting at the bar for my beer I decided to grab an 8.0's matchbook. I turned it over and to my pleasant surprise I saw one of the best messages on the other side. What did it say???

"Ignorance of your culture is NOT considered cool."
