There is a new study out about women and how they feel about their asses. I thought the results were pretty interesting:
85% of women think their ass is too big.
10% of women think their ass is too little.
The other 5% say that they don't care, they love him, he's a good man, and they would have married him anyway.
Just another blog of an everyday girl. Nothing special, just the same ole, same ole, so why not let everyone know.

21 Clues a Woman Should Call it a Night...
My girl Julie sent this to me. Sadly, I can relate to a couple of them.
21 CLUES A WOMAN SHOULD CALL IT A NIGHT...
1. I have absolutely no idea where my purse is.
2. I believe that dancing with my arms overhead and wiggling my butt while yelling WOO-HOO is truly the sexiest dance move around.
3. I've suddenly decided I want to kick someone's ass and honestly believe I could do it too.
4. In my last trip to "pee" I realize I now look more like Tammy Faye Baker than the goddess I was just four hours ago.
5 . I drop my 3:00 a.m. burrito on the floor (which I'm eating even though I'm not the least bit hungry),pick it up and carry on eating it.
6. I start crying and telling everyone I see that I love them sooooo much.
7. There are less than three hours before I'm due to start work.
8. I've found a deeper/spiritual side to the geek sitting next to me.
9. The man I'm flirting with used to be my 5th grade teacher.
10 . The urge to take off articles of clothing, stand on a table and sing or dance becomes strangely overwhelming.
11. My eyes just don't seem to want to stay open on their own so I keep them half closed and think it looks exotically sexy.
12. I've suddenly taken up smoking and became really good at it.
13. I yell at the bartender, who (I think) cheated me by giving me just lemonade, but that's just because I can no longer taste the gin.
14. I think I'm in bed, but my pillow feels strangely like the kitchen floor.
15. I start every conversation with a booming, DON'T take this the WRONG WAY but..."
16. I fail to notice that the toilet lid's down when I sit on it.
17. My hugs begin to resemble wrestling take-down moves.
18. I'm tired so I just sit on the floor (wherever I happen to be standing)and take a quick nap.
19. I begin leaving the buttons open on my button fly pants to cut down on the time I'm in the bathroom away from my drink.
20. I take my shoes off because I believe it's their fault that I'm having problems walking straight.
21. I start believing that everyone in the room wants to see my boobs.

What Age Do You Act?
This is funny because I took the quiz and I act my actual age. Weird because I feel like I act younger.
You Are 29 Years Old |
29 Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe. 13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world. 20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences. 30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more! 40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax. |
How Normal Are You?
55% normal, is that a good thing?
You Are 55% Normal (Somewhat Normal) |
While some of your behavior is quite normal... Other things you do are downright strange You've got a little of your freak going on But you mostly keep your weirdness to yourself |
What Are The Keys To Your Heart?
Another one for you for insight on me...
The Keys to Your Heart |
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free. |
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored. |
You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change. |
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please. |
Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets. |
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment. |
You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred. |
In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted. |
What Does Your Birth Date Mean?
Although my birthday was months ago, thought this was interesting...
Your Birthdate: February 6 |
A birthday on the 6th of the month adds a tone of responsibility, helpfulness, and understanding to your natural inclinations. Those born on the sixth are more apt to be open and honest with everyone, and more caring about family and friends, too. This is a number associated with responsibility and caring - this birthday lends a degree of concern for others. |

Things have been crazy these past couple of weeks. People remember, you can't be friends with the opposite sex if they are married....with issues with their spouses. I would like to think that with my best guy friends, even after they get married, I can still be friends with them, but some don't see it that way. Am I wrong for thinking that? All I have been is a friend. I guess I'm really NOT "just one of the guys."

Just a brief update on my life. Still looking for a day job. Band stuff is definitely keeping me busy. Also, still working at Kirby's.
Went to Florida last week to visit mom and the family. My girl Mikey came down with me and we had a chance to go snorkling in Fort Lauderdale and hang out at a swanky hotel/bar in South Beach. While chillin' in South Beach saw P-Diddy roll by in a coral blue Ferarri. Out famous person sighting for the weekend. Got to hang with the family and played mahjong every night.
Oh and my girl Ashley wanted me to post our work adventures from Friday. She was sooooo funny and relxed, if you know what I mean. Told her not to do that stuff before work and she said that's why she did it 3 hours earlier. Must have been some good stuff! It was slow at work but alot of fun.
That's all the excitement for now.

Thought for the day...
My cousin sent this to me and I wanted to pass it on...
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

Lose/Lose
When I actually start to manage I apparently give off the impression that I'm a bitch. While I feel if I don't "manage," I'm not doing my job. I'm just making sure everyone is one big happy. F*&k friendships. Okay, not all of them, just one in particular.

Congrats to my Illini for beating the Badgers (for the third time this season) and becoming Big Ten Champs. Time to March to the Arch! Gotta love this time of year. March Madness is in full effect and Illinois is #1!
Prayers to the Weber family. This run is for Dawn Weber, Coach Bruce Weber's mom. You know she's looking down on her son and his boys.

Quiz Time
Haven't done quizzes in a while so here we go...
What kind of guy are you most attracted to?

You like the ones that understand you.
What kind of guy are you most attracted to? (CUTE anime pics)

What is Your True Hidden Power?

Your Hidden Power Is Water
You have a rather calm soul, but when tempted
will get pissed off at those who bug you. You
do whatever you can in your powers to help
those of your allies and have a okay taste for
human kind, but you find them rather annoying
on occasions.
Gem Stone: Saphire, Eye Color:Ice
Blue,Hair Color:Dark Blue that's long
that goes to your waist.
Quote:If you wait for me
Then I'll come for you. Although I've travelled
far, I always hold a place for you
In my heart. If you think of me, If you miss me
once in a while, Then I'll return to you. I'll
return and fill that space in your heart
What Is Your True Hidden Power? .::Beautiful Anime Pics::.

This one I find very interesting...
What Lies Behind Your Eyes?

In your eyes, people see shards of ice
everywhere... You are cold and distant, pushing
away people that love you and truely care for
you! You want to be able to reach out and love
them but... You can't for some reason... You're
just too.... You :P Underneath that cold
exterior lies a warm, happy soul that wants to
let loose and have fun! Your sanctuary would
probably be anywhere up high where you can look
down on life below you, like the roof of an
apartment building... Your eyes resemble a
saddened, crestfallen person seeking out
attention, but doesn't know how to handle it.
However, you do find comfort from your friends,
they're always there for you, and they know the
REAL you :) Even though you do seem rather
cold, you can be very protective over something
you truely believe in or love. Let go of that
"tough" rep and just be you! It's
impossible to live life without some fun and
love ^-^

Aquarians....
A fellow Aquarian sent this to me from astrology.com. I know it's not our time anymore, but for my fellow Aquarians, I figured I would also pass this on:

Aquarius: Karmic Life Lessons
Aquarius is the most progressive Sign of the Zodiac; ruled by Uranus, the Planet of Rebellion, Aquarius is never satisfied with the status quo and is always forward-thinking, finding creative, innovative ways to improve things. Its other ruling Planet, Saturn, lends it the hardworking sensibility needed to turn those ideas into tangible, concrete results. Those born under the Aquarian influence are known for their quick minds, their magnetism and their social conscience; Aquarians are always the first to espouse viewpoints that favor the oppressed. They also make great and loyal friends and love a party or a gathering that allows them to mix and mingle with all kinds of people. Trouble for an Aquarius occurs on a more personal or private level. While totally at home in a crowd, Aquarius doesn't do so well one-on-one and can actually come across as cool, aloof or indifferent to anyone trying to gain its personalized, intimate attention. Why does Aquarius shy away from intimate contact? In truth, Aquarians tend to be shy and lacking in confidence; that cold demeanor comes not from a cold heart but from a basic sense of insecurity.
Uranus possesses a coolly androgynous energy; that, plus its rebellious tendencies, contribute to Aquarius's uncertain grasp of its own identity. Neither overwhelmingly feminine or masculine and with unpredictable impulses coming seemingly from nowhere, the uncertainty is understandable. Originality is never comfortable, especially under Saturn's more conventional rule, and Aquarius is a true original. However, this same originality can devolve into perverse eccentricity; Aquarius may try to be different simply for the sake of being different. This is an empty, pointless pursuit; eccentricity isn't an identity in itself. Aquarius must try to learn the reasons behind the impulses: What interests foster the humanitarian urge or the desire for progress? The answers to that question may provide Aquarius with the key to its inner self.
Being so forward-thinking may be another reason Aquarius can seem so aloof; this Sign finds it difficult to remain grounded in the present for long. It may actually consider lovemaking and other forms of one-on-one relating to be akin to procrastinating. During slow, intimate moments, Aquarius may feel more and more restless by the moment, wishing it could stop wasting time relating and get back to the workshop (literal or figurative) where it can continue to invent, innovate, create! This restlessness can come across to others as tactless or rude, two of the last things this people-loving Sign would want to be. Aquarius must develop a certain level of comfort with its own ambiguity in order to be truly comfortable with other people, to be able to relate to others as individuals.
Aquarius may also need to harness its rebellious urges before it can truly understand itself. Learning to separate rebellion for its own sake from rebellion intended for revolution is key; learning the value of rules and traditions may help a great deal. Aquarius can look to Taurus in this regard, as Taurus places the same value on tradition that Aquarius places on rebellion. Aquarius can look to warm-hearted Leo to learn the joys of caring for another person in a close, intimate way; Scorpio can teach Aquarius not to fear depth of personal connection.
Happy Birthday to Me!
Today is my birthday! How cool is it that my birthday is on Superbowl Sunday?! I will be celebrating with my peeps at a local hang out.
Yesterday I went to see Gavin DeGraw at the Lakewood Theater. HOT, TALENTED and YUMMMMMMYYYY!!! If you get a chance to see him live, you must! The show was great, the live piano made me want to cry. It was a sold out show and Billy hooked it up. THANK YOU BILLY! We even got a chance to meet him! Great marketing tactic, if you buy a piece of merch you got a wristband to meet him after the show. More about that in a bit. Back to the show. His opener was Michael Tolcher. He was good. Lots of fun. But Gavin was just WOW! He did everything from Chariot and a couple of covers including Marvin Gaye's Let's Get it On...that was just YUM!
Anyway, so we are in line and finally get up to meet him. His birthday was on Friday so of course we had to mention that he shares the same birthday as Julie (HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO BOTH OF YOU!). I told him since it's after midnight it was officially my birthday. We both got birthday hugs from Gavin!!!! Unfortunately I depended on the idiot security guy to attempt to take our picture with my camera. Retard didn't know how to use it and after three attempts, we had to give up because we were holding up the line. I should have just taken the pic of Julie, Gavin and Jackie, then had one of them take a pic of me and him, but I wasn't even thinking. Before I walked away I did slip him a wN business card and told him to check out the band. He said "Yeah, I'll definitely do that Rosie"...he said my name!!!! As I walked away I turned and opened my camera and got a shot of him and looked at the security guy and gave him a dirty look...IDIOT! All in all, great show! He's playing again tonight....maybe I should stalk him! Just kidding.

Update on my life
Things have been pretty busy since coming back from Greenland. I finished up my internship at TSG, just need to have my "exit" interview/meeting. I have been promoted within the band as their personal/tour/show manager. I am leaving for Vegas in a couple of days to help a friend out at the Shot Show. Still busy working at Kirby's. Still trying to find a "day" job. Uhm....I'm sure there's other things going on and I can't remember. Anyway, that's the update on me. Will try to be better about posting (funny, I think I said that around this time last year). Gotta do laundry. Busy, busy, busy.

Beautiful Soul
Saw this guy on TRL and heard his song on the radio. How adorable is Jesse McCartney!?!?! His latest song is called "Beautiful Soul." It's on my fave list at the moment. He's only 17!
"Beautiful Soul" lyrics:
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
I know that you are something special
To you I'd be always faithful
I want to be what you always needed
Then I hope you'll see the heart in me
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
You're the one I want to chase
You're the one I want to hold
I won't let another minute go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
Your beautiful soul, yeah
You might need time to think it over
But I'm just fine moving forward
I'll ease your mind if you give me the chance
I will never make you cry, c'mon let's try
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
You're the one I want to chase
You're the one I want to hold
I won't let another minute go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul
Am I crazy for wanting you?
Baby do you think you could want me too?
I don't wanna waste your time
Do you see things the way I do?
I just want to know that you feel it too
There is nothing left to hide
I don't want another pretty face
I don't want just anyone to hold
I don't want my love to go to waste
I want you and your beautiful soul

Merry Christmas
This post is a day late, but Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope everyone had a good holiday. For me it was a little different. I had to work on Christmas Eve then went home and watched the mass from the Vatican. I was pretty emotional since this is the first Christmas not with my mom. But thanks to my surrogate families in Texas it was all good.
Today, I am going to be running around, getting last minute stuff done for Greenland. Two more days and I'm outta here! Keep checking back for more exciting stuff.

A special Thank You!
To my family and friends (who are also like family):

This weekend...
So my mom's visit wasn't too bad. She's my mom and I love her, but she's still a mom. I am so glad she got to come down for my graduation (yes, I graduated Friday!). She also got to meet my friends down here and I couldn't have asked for anything more. She loves everyone and everyone loves her. We had dinner with some of the band people and she had a good time. I love my friends and my mom of course!
Here's an update on the past couple of days...
Wednesday - Mom arrives. Had a couple of drinks before picking her up. Went out with a friend later that night and didn't get home til 3:30. Let's just say it was an interesting night. I get home and my mom starts getting mad at me. Oh well, I was able to get up the next morning, no problem.
Thursday - Intern in the morning and dinner with band people. Mmmmm...Covino's. Wish other people could have come, oh well.
Friday - GRADUATION DAY! Went car shopping early in the day then graduated at night. Got my MBA from the University of Dallas. It was an awesome feeling walking into the gym with all those people cheering. Didn't really feel finished with school until I walked across that stage and was handed my diploma, yes my actual diploma not an empty one with "degree to be delivered" in it. It was a pretty quick ceremony. There were 126 graduates that walked. The keynote speaker was a little boring, but we got through it. Dr.Clark ran through the names. It only took 1 1/2 hours. The guys played at dJango's and I took my mom to see them. When I got there people congratulated me on my graduation and some were actually upset because I didn't tell them about the ceremony. Didn't realize how many people actually wanted to go to my ceremony to cheer me on. I would have invited everyone, mostly the band guys, but they had to be at their gig and I wasn't sure how long the ceremony would have lasted. But I truly appreciate the love my friends give me. I think my mom enjoyed herself except for the smoke. The guys put on a hell of a performance. She got to meet the rest of the band guys she didn't get to meet Thursday night. That was FUN!
Saturday - Got my 04 Xterra! Then went to dinner at Kirby's. Thanks Mel for the hook-up! Here's a pic of the new car. I'll get a pic of my actual car soon and post it on here.
Sunday - Mom left early. I love that woman and admire her for the love that she continuously gives me despite my irresponsibility with money. She has so much strength that is undescribable. She took an early flight because my aunt kept calling about Uncle Art. I hope everything is okay.
That has been my weekend so far. Every day/night we've gone out to eat. Tonight...Maggiano's. Then, no more eating out!

T minus 5 hours
My mom will be here in 5 hours. My apartment smells like Pine Sol and I'm doing final laundry stuff. Spent all day Monday cleaning the apartment and I put up my little Christmas tree. Yesterday, not having to do with cleaning, but just a busy day...I drove from pretty much the farthest point North to the farthest point South as I had to take Troy and John around. We did passport stuff then went over to record some music. It's cool hanging with my boys. Watched Gangs of New York, sorry but I didn't enjoy it too much. It was just toooooo long. At one point I thought it was over and it just kept going. Had I been prepared, I would have probably enjoyed it more. Anyway, I need to put the clothes in the dryer. More later.

Blame it on the Rain
I LOVE rain, but not when I need to get shit done! I need to wash some linens, maybe I should just lay them outside? ARGH!
Weekend Wrap-up
Nothing too exciting this weekend. It's weird when we don't have a show, but very chill and relaxing. I caught a cold from Thanksgiving. I think it may have had to do with waking up and being outside so early, then after dinner doing the campfire thing, both in cold weather. I should have been better dressed for the campfire. Oh well, Tylenol Cold, Advil, and Claritin (because at work my eyes were a little itchy and the weather wasn't too bad Friday) have been in my system the past couple of days.
I had dinner with the DuPre' family. They are an awesome family and GREAT cooks! They are so much fun to be around. I'm so glad that I was able to be a part of their family. I'd have to thank Troy again for asking me to be a part of the band staff. I've made wonderful friends through it.
Friday night I got to hang with three of my favorite people...John, Wes and NaMicha. It was a very chill night. Headed out to their neck of the woods and we went out to Greenville Ave. Went to the Pony Keg, dead, but I like chill bars. Would have gone to lower Greenville, but we couldn't find parking. After we went to an Asian food place that is open til 3am! I think the name is Nanding/Nandina, something like that. It's afilliated with River Spice...yum....Shrimp Tempura Rolls at 1:30am! All in all, we just hung out and it was fun.
Also, my friend Glenda is back from England. She made Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night so I went by there after work. I'm all about still eating Thanksgiving food after Thursday since I don't have "leftovers". Give me stuffing and baked Mac and Cheese anyday!
Booty calls...don't get them often, but you gotta love 'em!
Mom comes in three days so I need to get cleaning. Then I can put up my Christmas three. Can you feel the holiday season?

Also, my friend Glenda is back from England. She made Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday night so I went by there after work. I'm all about still eating Thanksgiving food after Thursday since I don't have "leftovers". Give me stuffing and baked Mac and Cheese anyday!
Booty calls...don't get them often, but you gotta love 'em!
Mom comes in three days so I need to get cleaning. Then I can put up my Christmas three. Can you feel the holiday season?
Cleaning out my Closet
Cleaning out my closet is a chore. I have soooooo much clothes I don't know what to do with. I made three piles, one for goodwill, one for the Philippines and one for a local women's shelter. The one for the women's shelter has been put on hold so my mom can go through and pick out stuff for her, my aunt, and the Philippines. I just want to get everything out of here! Now, time to clean the bathroom and kitchen...wish me luck!

Did you know?
I got this forward from my cousin and thought it was pretty cool. Of course, it's one of those chain letter things, but the meaning is what's important. To all my friends:
Did you know ???
Did you know that when you envy someone, it's because you really like that person?
Did you know that those who appear to be very strong in heart, are real weak and most succeptible?
Did you know that those who spend their time protecting others are the ones that really need some one to protect them?
Did you know that the three most difficult things to say are :
"I Love You" "Sorry" and "Help Me"
The people who say these are actually in need of them or really feel them, and are the ones you really need to treasure, because they have said them.
Did you know that people who occupy themselves by keeping others company or helping others are the ones that actually need your company and help?
Did you know that those who dress in red are more confident in themselves?
Did you know that those who dress in yellow are those that enjoy their beauty?
Did you know that those who dress in black, are those who want to be unnoticed and need your help and understanding?
Did you know that when you help someone, the help is returned in two folds?
Did you know that those who need more of you are those that don't mention it to you?
Did you know that it's easier to say what you feel in writing than saying it to someone in the face? But did you know that it has more value when you say it to their face?
Did you know that what is most difficult for you to say or do is much more valuable than anything that is valuable that you can buy with money?
Did you know that if you ask for something in faith, your wishes are granted?
Did you know that you can make your dreams come true, like falling in love, becoming rich, staying healthy, if you ask for it by faith, and if you really knew, you'd be surprised by what you could do.
But don't believe everything I tell you, until you try it for yourself , if you know someone that is in need of something that I mentioned, and you know that you can help, you'll see that it will be returned in two-fold.
DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU COULD ALWAYS COUNT ON ME???... AT THE MOMENT, TIME AND PLACE THAT YOU NEED ME, CALL ME, I WILL BE THERE WITH YOU!!!!!
"One day, we will change the world...or we are already changing it " THE BALL IS NOW IN YOUR COURT... If the world were to end in 24 hours, all the phone lines, chat rooms and e-mails will be saturated from people sending messages to others, saying: "I regret having made you feel bad", "Pardon me", "I love you", "I hold you in high esteem", take good care of yourself" and sometimes "I have always loved you, only I never told you".
Today, the ball of FRIENDSHIP is in your court, send this to those who truly are your friends (including me if I am one). Also, do not feel bad if no one sends this back to you in the end, you'll find out that you'll get to keep the ball for other people want more...

He Will be Loved
When I first heard this song I wasn't into it, but the more and more I hear it, the more and more I love it. I need to get Songs About Jane, I'm so behind on Maroon 5. I saw them open for John Mayer and they were okay, but maybe I just needed to pay better attention to them. Anyway, here are the lyrics to She Will Be Loved. For me I would change some of the pronouns, but I can totally relate.
She (He) Will Be Loved
Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her
She always belonged to someone else
I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I've had you so many times but somehow
I want more
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved
Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get so insecure
It doesn't matter anymore
It's not always rainbows and butterflies
It's compromise that moves us along
My heart is full and my door's always open
You can come anytime you want
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved
I know where you hide
Alone in your car
Know all of the things that make you who you are
I know that goodbye means nothing at all
Comes back and begs me to catch her every time she falls
Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
[in the background]
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
Yeah
[softly]
I don't mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Try so hard to say goodbye
She (He) Will Be Loved

PMSing All Week Sucks
Okay, so it hasn't been a good week emotionally. I've had major PMS. I've been pretty sensitive to things. It all started with not knowing if my friend in Chicago was pissed at me and my friends for our drunk night last Friday. Then making stupid drunk phone calls. Then Kerry doesn't win the presidency. Then I find out that family members aren't coming to my graduation now since my mom is coming...please don't need your pity. I have friends who WANT to come and support me. Then the guys get back from Alaska and as everyone asks me how things went and I snap. Then...and the list goes on and on. I hate this time of the month. But not to worry, things are better today.
Saw the boys play last night. Show went well, but I guess it was a disappointment for management. Apparently the guys didn't have the energy that they had in Alaska. Welcome home I suppose. They played two new songs. Little Girl I liked and One Heart I guess I just need to listen to and get used to. It kinda sounds like they are still working on that one. Then again, I didn't like Bittersweet Backseat when I first heard it, but I love it now.
Anyway, so that's how my week has been. Hope everyone else has had a better one.

What is your Political Persuasion?
You Are a New School Democrat |
You like partying and politics - and are likely to be young and affluent. You're less religious, traditional, and uptight than most Democrats. Smoking pot, homosexuality, and gambling are all okay in your book. You prefer that the government help people take care of themselves. |
Four more years of.....
Senator John Kerry is giving his concession speech. It's official, four more years of uncertainty, war, economic troubles, rich people getting richer, poor people getting poorer, basic rights being taken away because the religious right doesn't believe in it, people continuing to suffer because stem cell research cannot be done, a country divided, young people dying in a war that doesn't pertain to us, on and on and on.
I am proud the amount of young people that came out to vote, but I wish many of them made the decision because they wanted their candidate and not their parents.
With the percentage of popular votes and the electoral college, it is proof of how divided our country is.
Doesn't it scare you when people outside of our country are scared for us? I met a man from England yesterday and he said people across the seas think Americans are idiots for supporting George Bush. They are watching the elections just as closely as we are and they are genuinely afraid.
Does it bother anyone that we are led in this war by only one person that has actually served in the Military? I was listening to NPR and they talked about the military records of key Democrats and key Republicans and the D's outweigh the R's. The R's only have Colin Powell, everyone else was able to avoid military service...must be nice to have money.
Okay, so I guess we have to come together as a country and fight for what we believe in. We have a leader that half the country doesn't want, but we have to live with it.
2008 - Hilary Clinton/Barack Obama???????

Back from Chicago
Well, I took my girls up to Chicago. Here's a little summary of what we did.
Wednesday - Arrived and ate dinner at Armando's...YUM!!! Then we went to see The Grudge. I thought it was good. It wasn't scary gross, but scary spooky. The little Japanese boy was probably the scariest part of the movie.
Thursday - Art Institute, Millenium Park, Bakers on State Street (where Jackie and NaMicha got some good deals), H&M, dinner at Eli's...YUM!!!, Blue Chicago for some Live Blues.
Friday - Lunch at Benihana, Tour of Chicago, Top of the Sears Tower, Rode the Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier, dinner at Gino's, out to FUNK and Bootleggers on Division and Rush...OUCH!
Saturday - Paid for Friday night. Ate at Jimmy John's. Walked around the city more. Went to see Ray. Ray is a must see. It was interesting to see the life of Ray Charles. That man has been through alot of shit and persevered.
Sunday - Ate lunch at Foodlife, did last minute shopping and came home to Dallas. Worked on marketing plan on the plane. Went over to Pete's and chilled with Beth and MA and gave out candy to Trick-or-Treaters.
Whew, busy past five days. Will try to post some pics soon.

So Much for my Happy Ending
Okay, so I was supposed to see Avril Lavigne tonight at the AAC. Julie's roommate's daughter won tickets from KISS but she couldn't go because she had a volleyball game, so being the good friend she is, Julie invited me to go see Avril. I said sure, hey it's FREE tickets to a concert, right? Anyway, needless to say I met Julie at our regular hang out and by the time we left, it was just too late and we made every excuse in the book not to have to travel all the way down to the AAC. That and we had a few drinks. We got a few feet down Preston and made a long U-turn through the State Farm parking lot. I'm sure the show rocked, but sorry, no review here. Beasties still kicked ass thought! So much for my happy ending...I still can't think of Avril's first song (I can remember sk8ter Boi though). ARGH!

Went to see the Beastie Boys last night at the AAC. For a bunch of old guys they still put on a Kick Ass show. From the old skool to the new skool AWESOME! Of course when they took the stage, people lit up. Ahhhh, second hand smoke. The floor was general admission and people were moshing. Could never do GA. There was a guy in a Sasquatch outfit. People were just interesting in general. The Beasties did their encore from a section over.
One thing that I was confused about is that Ad Rock made his political statement for the evening "We need to get George Bush out of office" while throughout the whole show MCA had a "W" sticker on him. Is there political conflict in the band?
Overall...it was a great, energetic, entertaining show! Monday night...Avril Lavigne. Hey FREE tickets baby!

Talking Matchbooks
So my boys played at 8.0's in Fort Worth this weekend. I have a thing for matches (yes I am a pyro). While waiting at the bar for my beer I decided to grab an 8.0's matchbook. I turned it over and to my pleasant surprise I saw one of the best messages on the other side. What did it say???

Sweet Home Chicago
Booked my flight...going home to Chicago Halloween weekend and I'm bringing my Texas girls with me. While our boys are in Alaska, we are having a girl's weekend in Chi-town. I get to bring my girls home and let them see my city and my mom gets to meet the "chicks" of the band. I'm so excited. All my Chicago peeps need to give me the heads up on where to take them clubbin'...haven't been to a Chicago club in a loooooonnnnggg ass time. Any suggestions, please post.
If I Ever Lose My Faith....
Last night I went to see Sting and Annie Lennox at the Smirnoff Music Center. What a beautiful night to be on the lawn as both amazing artists did their sets. WOW! I can now mark off these two artists from MUST SEE concerts(also on the list, Madonna, Prince, U2).
The "opener" was Sting's guitarist Dominic Miller. His guitar skills are awesome. He even played the National Anthem for all us Americans...beautiful. Then his surrogate older brother Sting, came out and did "Shape of My Heart"...amazing.
Annie Lennox came out next. She has such an amazing voice. Doing stuff I didn't recognize and then some of her hits, especially "Here Comes the Rain Again" as she played the piano. As she did "Why?" you can see the "Dangerous Liasons" concept video in your head. She came on for her encore and did "Sweet Dreams"...wow.
Finally the moment, Sting takes the stage. Lovely voice, sexy man, mesmerizing guitar playing...yum! The stage was amazing. The video screens behind him flashing artsy imagery, girls in lingerie, "Fields of Gold", guitar camera shots, etc. At one point Annie Lennox came out and did "We'll Be Together" with Sting. And Sting's backup singer, something Rose...sorry I can't remember her name, did a duet with him and her voice was on fire! My favorite was his encore when he did "Desert Rose" and "Every Breath you Take." I can't think of anymore adjectives, just check out the show. Two legendary artists in one night...can't miss, shouldn't miss!

Broke as a Joke
Argh....I'm a sucker for going on a road trip. Julie and I went to Shreveport again and as usual I lost money and she comes home with money. I started doing well towards the end, but it was just time for us to go. We went to Sam's Town and Hollywood Casinos. We need to go to Harrah's next time. And we need to go when I feel the bug. ARGH!!!

What's in a (Smurf) Name?
Check out the Smurf Name Generator.
If I enter Rosie, my name is Moo Goo Gai Smurf.
If I enter my full name, Rosemarie, my name is Bambi Smurf.
Interesting since I was told the other day that "Rosie" is very close to a stripper name. Not a good way to impress a girl. Doesn't matter because as the conversation went on, I was told that I am not a very friendly person. Whatever drunka$$.

How much of a friend can I be?
I have a friend who is going through a ROUGH time in his life. Another friend called me up and asked if I talked to him lately. I've called him, left him messages, even left my phone number on his voicemail in case he needed to talk. I've heard he's been crashing and that scares me. I've offered my help, but no call backs. Whether he realizes it or not, there are people who care and depend on him being well. ARGH, do I just give up or wait til he comes around? I'm not stalking, not obsessed, just want to be a friend and make sure he doesn't go off the deep end...hope it's not too late!

More Linkin Park
We all interpret lyrics differently...this is one I can relate to somewhat right now.
"Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park
from
When this began
I had nothing to say
And I'd get lost in the nothingness inside of me
I was confused
And I'd let it all out to find
That I'm not the only person with these things in mind
Inside of me
When all the vacancy the words revealed
Is the only real thing that I've got left to feel
Nothing to loose
Just stuck, hollow and alone
And the fault is my own and the fault is my own
I wanna heal
I wanna feel
What I thought was never real
I want to let go of the pain I felt so long
Erase all the pain till its gone
I wanna heal
I wanna feel
Like Im close to something real
I want to find something I've wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
And I've got nothing to say
I can't believe I didnt fall right down on my face
I was confused
Looking everwhere only to find
That it's not the way I had imagined it all in my mind
So what am I
What do I have but negativity
Cause I cant justify the way everyone is looking at me
Nothing to loose
Nothing to gain, hollow and alone
And the fault is my own and the fault is my own
I wanna heal
I wanna feel
What I thought was never real
I want to let go of the pain I felt so long
Erase all the pain til its gone
I wanna heal
I wanna feel
Like Im close to something real
I want to find something Ive wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
I will never know
Myself until I do this on my own
And I will never feel
Anything else, until my wounds are healed
I will never be anything
till I break away from me
I will break away
I'll find myself today
I wanna heal
I wanna feel
What I thought was never real
I want to let go of the pain I felt so long
Erase all the pain till it's gone
I wanna heal
I wanna feel
Like Im close to something real
I want to find something Ive wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
I wanna heal
I wanna feel
I wanna feel like I'm somewhere I belong

Confusion
So here's an update in my world....
Life sucks!
Friends?! I put myself in this position and kick myself in the ass for it. No emotions, that was the agreement...dammit! Why do I care so much?
"I wanna run away
Never say goodbye
I wanna know the truth
Instead of wondering why
I wanna know the answers
No more lies
I wanna shut the door
And open up my mind"
-"Run Away" by Linkin Park
ARGH...on a different note, just bought Linkin Park "Live in Texas"...going to watch the DVD after Seinfeld. Gotta love Linkin Park though...pay attention to the lyrics. Here's another one for you...
"Crawling" by Linkin Park
crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real
there's something inside me that pulls beneath the surface
consuming/confusing
this lack of self-control I fear is never ending
controlling/I can't seem
to find myself again
my walls are closing in
(without a sense of confidence and I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
so insecure
crawling in my skin
these wounds they will not heal
fear is how I fall
confusing what is real
discomfort, endlessly has pulled itself upon me
distracting/reacting
against my will I stand beside my own reflection
it's haunting how I can't seem...
to find myself again
my walls are closing in
(without a sense of confidence and I'm convinced that there's just too much pressure to take)
I've felt this way before
